About Our Houses
Safety and security – all properties include smoke alarms, have annual gas certificates and electrical certificates every five years.
Maintenance – we work with a team of friendly and experienced tradesmen to maintain the properties to a high standard and we aim to resolve any issues promptly. We offer direct access to the landlord and tradesmen who live close by. We have a rolling program of maintenance to keep our properties modern and up to date. Houses are thoroughly cleaned each summer.
Social spaces – most properties include dining areas, living rooms and gardens to provide good social spaces. TVs are provided in the living rooms.
Good locations – our properties are either located close to Newport town centre or the village of Edgmond.
Bills – meter readings are taken at the beginning and end of the tenancy to ensure the correct bills are calculated. Council tax is not payable for full time students.
Furnishings – our properties are fully furnished with IKEA furniture. Generally, the bedrooms will include a double bed, wardrobe, desk, chair, chest of drawers and shelving.
Deposit – we ask for a deposit of £250 per student which is held in the Government Deposit Protection Scheme. The deposit is paid at the point the rental contract is signed and is returned at the end of the tenancy. We give advice on how to avoid deductions from the deposit and it’s rare for us to make deductions.
